Partner And Help

Embrace Uganda is grateful to all of those who partner with us to change the lives of children. Here are a few of our partners and how they are helping.

Growing Child Pediatrics

Each year Growing Child Pediatrics puts collection bins in their seven offices to allow staff and patients to donate school supplies, crocs and health kits for our summer volunteer teams to carry and personally deliver to orphans we serve. In addition, this year two GCP doctors will travel with our teams to offer medical outreach clinics.

Wake Forest Baptist Church

Wake Forest Baptist Church and its members help in more ways than we could possibly list. They donate funds, host craft fairs, perform concerts, do collection drives, help with summer team travel logistics, and much, much more. They have formally adopted Uganda as one of their 3 foreign mission focuses.

Trinity Academy Of Raleigh

Trinity Academy was the first school to support Embrace Uganda and over 40 students and adults from the school have traveled on summer teams to serve. They have organized 3v3 soccer tournaments to raise funds, hosted collection drives and they donated approximately 1000 pounds of uniforms! Trinity students, teachers and parents

Wake Forest Rolesville High School

The WFRHS Key Club, led by Austin Shaw, have for two years hosted a 5K run to raise funds. Because of their efforts eighty teenage orphans received the first beds, mattresses and bedding they ever have had.

North Carolina Theatre

During the summer of 2010, North Carolina Theatre partnered with Embrace Uganda during their production of Annie to help raise awareness of the needs of orphans in both Uganda and the United States. They hosted handmade African craft sales and promoted the needs of orphans throughout the run of the show.

Meredith College

Meredith College led by Caroline Ashworth and Lina Sibert hosted a major African Craft Sale on April 21, 2010 to raise funds and awareness.

UNC-Chapel Hill

This fall UNC student Nick Troxell organized an incredible concert (2010) feature 6 local bands to raise funds for Embrace Uganda—his efforts have made a significant impact in helping to build a well in an area where there is NO clean water.

Raytheon

This year Raytheon CSS in Alexandria, VA and Orlando, FL puts collection bins (2010) in their offices to allow staff to donate crocs and health kits for our summer volunteer teams to carry and personally deliver to orphans we serve.

UNC Children’s Heart Program/Samaritan’s Purse/ Gift Of Life

We are proud to have partnered with UNC Health and Hospitals in bringing a young teenager, Patrick Kahuma, from Uganda to the United States for a corrective catheter based heart procedure. This was made possible through joining hands with Samaritan’s Purse and Gift Of Life. We thank Dr Keith Kocis for spearheading this effort, as well as Dr Elman Frantz, Dr Peggy Dietrich and the many, many others who have given of their time and resources to make this possible. Youth and Children of the German Baptist Convention

We have learned that the Division of Youth and Children (Gemeindejugendwerk, www.gjw.de) of the German Baptist Convention (Bund Evangelisch Freikirchlicher Gemeinden) has initiated a two year long effort to support orphan ministries around the world. One of five selected partner organizations is Embrace Uganda. The plight and needs of orphaned children will be discussed and highlighted in teaching materials which are used to teach German youngsters in Sunday School and Youth Ministry settings. Any funds raised as a result will be forwarded to identified partners such as E.U. A German version of the Embrace Uganda website was also created (embraceuganda.de)
